HOW TO BUY AT AUCTION - Trucks, Trailers & Machinery
Our Truck & Machinery division has a great range of gear for sale to choose from. Trucks, trailers, machinery and equipment, including Department of Defence items and farming equipment, are offered in monthly auctions at our operating locations and some items are available for immediate purchase through BuyNow.
Items can be viewed in online auction catalogues and at Manheim operating locations, check our locations page for viewing days and times.
THE PROCESS
To participate on auction day, follow these 5 easy steps:
1. Register
Each time you participate and bid for a vehicle you must complete a ‘Buyer Registration Form’ available in the foyer and online here. You will need photo identification to register and receive your ‘Buyer Number’.
2. Bidding
Raise your ‘Buyer Number’ or hand to gain the attention of the Auctioneer.
3. Deposit
If you are successful, you need to pay a deposit.
4. Pay
Finalise the balance of your invoice by the next business day after the auction.
5. Collect
Once you have finalised payment you can collect your vehicle. Vehicles must be collected no later than 4pm the day after sale.
USEFUL INFORMATION

Truck & Machinery Items
Items are auctioned in the order they appear in the catalogue. Items are either driven through the lanes, over auction ramps or the auctioneer moves to each item.
If an item is deemed a ‘plant item’, it may require an OH&S Safety Inspection report which will be available to view.

Testing items
For health and safety, you are unable to test drive items but some are driven through lanes or over auction ramps. Trucks and some items can be started for your inspection. Items requiring electrical power cannot be tested on site.

Unregistered Vehicles
It is illegal to drive an unregistered vehicle. You can obtain an Unregistered Vehicle Permit through any vehicle registration office and most Manheim operating locations. Check with a team member for more information.

Log Books and Accessories
Collect log books and accessories, where available, for up to 7 days after your purchase. Books and accessories will be disposed of if not collected.

Simulcast
You can bid online via Simulcast for our Truck & Machinery auctions with the exception of General Goods at some sites.

Purchasing before Auction
Some items are available to purchase for a fixed price without having to participate in auction, other items are available by tender or Expression of Interest. These items are identified accordingly or ask a team member for assistance.

Fees
Buyer Administration, Buyer Security and Handling Fees apply. GST is included unless otherwise indicated. Check on site, in auction catalogues or with cashiers for fees applicable to your vehicle category.
